OUR STORY
As told by Kathryn L. Kircher, Founder
My passion for interior design began in a family business, founded by my father who was inspired by a snowflake to open a ski resort. Over time, one property expanded into coast-to-coast locations. Along the way, I created and led the procurement division, dedicated to designing ski and summer resorts for outdoor enthusiasts.
Our lodges became a home away from home for our guests. They were beautifully appointed with luxury details but designed to withstand the high demand of active families. We innovated with state-of-the-art technology in textiles, performance fabrics, and carpet yarns to withstand high traffic, wear and tear. My design philosophy of “performance luxury” was born.
Over the next 25 years, this division would grow into a full-service interior design firm, handling mixed-use developments as well as residential and private clubs.
As the head of a busy household with a deep love for animals, my home is also an active one—with the occasional chaos that comes with it.
When I founded K KIRCHER HOME, I wanted to apply our expertise from hospitality to help families just like mine create homes they love.
Our collections are thoughtfully chosen for multi-generational households who want sofas that children can climb on, rugs that dogs love to lounge on, and dining tables that are designed for entertaining.
